INITIAL SAILING COURSE

1.       Day-  Zadar-Island Krknata-Sali, Dugi otok

After the meeting with the skipper in the marina Tankerkomerc in Zadar, accommodation in a boat follows. The skipper will advise you on food procurement and meal planning for the next three days (we recommend preparing breakfast and lunch together on board, and dinner at a local tavern / tavern or apartment accommodation).

Before leaving, you will receive scripts with a theory that you will go through with a skipper for three days and put into practice.

The planned departure from the port of Zadar is around 9 o’clock. After departure, you will be introduced to the parts of the sailboat and sails (basic terminology, working principle and everything else necessary for safe navigation). After passing through the Ždrelac canal, sails will be raised for the first time under skipper guidance. The planned route is the channel Ždrelac-Island Krknata. Due to its sandy composition, the waters of the island of Krknata are ideal for anchoring, followed by a lunch break. The break is followed by sailing to Sali, Dugi otok. During both sails you will learn to tune the sails and where each crew member must be at a given time. You will learn the rules of avoiding collisions at sea, the knots you need for sailing and mooring a boat. You will master the turn in the wind and the turn down the wind. The planned arrival to Sali in the afternoon, followed by a training ship handling. Throughout the sailing skipper will teach you the basics of navigation.

2.       Day– sailing the Kornati archipelago

Kornati archipelago consists of 150 islets. Covers an area of 320 km2 and is the most indented island ecosystem in the Adriatic Sea. During the day skipper will teach you the basics of navigation, sailing and manoeuvring the boat. The planned return to the port of Sali is in the afternoon. Followed by a review of the previous two days, dinner together and relaxation with a few drinks.

3.     Day–  Sali, Dugi Otok-Otok Ugljan-Zadar

You will spend the third day of the course sailing from Dugi Otok to Zadar and, as in the previous two days, practice sailing, navigation and manoeuvring by boat. During the sailing to Zadar, one stop is planned on the Island of Ugljan.

The work plan is the same as in the previous two days. The planned return to the port of Zadar is at dusk.
