Itinerary

7:00 am – Departure for Istra

11:00 am –   Istria is a place of great olive oil. You will visit one of the best Istrian olive oils producers.

Istrian olive oil is obtained by processing olives from their groves. The olives are picked by hand and processed within 24 hours, thereby providing a basis for the superior quality of the Istrian olive oil that is recognized and respected worldwide. After visiting the olive grove, taking a tour to the tasting place and a guided tasting of olive oil with cheese and curd, the visit to the production facility will end with a short story about production of olive oil in Istria and Vodnjanština.

12:30 pm – Your sightseeing will start in a city that has existed for three thousand years. Walking through Pula you will feel the spirit of the Romans, Venetians, Franks and the Austro-Hungarian Empire. You will explore numerous architecturally and historically significant buildings and monuments preserved from antiquity.

Your guide will accompany you to the most beautiful stage in the world, one of best-preserved Roman amphitheaters, Pula’s Arena where during the summer many concerts and festivals are performed under the stars.

You continue for the discovery walk through Pula’s three-thousand-years of history, evidenced at every step in the old town, visiting the Arch of the Sergii, Temple of Augustus, Hercules Gate and many others.

2:00 pm –  Lunch break

The walk through Pula ends with a lunch break and the gourmet adventure begins. You will taste the best Istrian traditional dishes made from top local ingredients.

4:00 pm –  Your next destination is Rovinj, once a town of fishermen and now one of the most famous tourist destinations in Europe.

Rovinj is a small town on the west coast of the Istrian peninsula. According to many, it is one of the most romantic places in the Mediterranean. A long time ago, Rovinj used to be an island protected with high, strong stone walls. Crowded, colorful houses, narrow streets and small squares are guarded by the baroque St. Euphemia’s church. The view of the surrounding area from its bell-tower is magnificent.

6:30 pm –  Dinner

You will then continue your journey to the Istrian inland where you will stop for a truly gastronomic experience of Istrian domestic cuisine at an authentic agrotourism restaurant.
